The village budget for 2013 was approved by Holgate Council Tuesday night.  General fund appropriations have actually declined from last year’s budget, with the spending plan at $372,905.  That’s about $3,200 lower than the general fund budget for 2012.

The Henry County Commissioners attended the Holgate Council session to discuss any concerns.   Council wanted to make sure about their recommendation for nuisance properties to be torn down.

The contract for patrols by the Henry County Sheriff’s Department in the village of Holgate was approved at 30 hours per week.

The annual contract for the village solicitor, David Bucik (byoo-sick) was approved at $10,500.

At the next Holgate Council session, the board will be reviewing health insurance options for employees.

And Holgate Council saluted two local Eagle Scouts that received their awards:  Derek Healy and Jared Jones.
