At their final meeting of the month, Deshler Council approved the village appropriations for 2013.   The general fund expenditures were set at $418,737; which is about a $2,000 decrease from 2012.

Deshler Council was informed the village had received three properties at no expense, following no bidders at a recent sheriff’s sale.  Those parcels include a business property in the 100 block of East Main Street; along with residences on North Lind and South East Avenue.  A contract was approved with Panning Excavating to tear down the business downtown.   The Deshler Development Committee donated $2,500 toward that project.

Deshler Council signed a contract with Jones and Henry for engineering services to construct a third lagoon for the wastewater treatment plant.  Those engineering costs are estimated at $20,000.

And council accepted the resignation of Tod Peterson as co-engineer with the Deshler volunteer fire department.
