A proposal to expand Medicaid in Ohio could have a major impact for northwest Ohio residents.  CEO at the Four County board of alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services, Les McCaslin made those remarks after hearing about Governor Kasich’s plan to include families at up to 138% of the federal poverty level.             If this proposal is accepted; it would mean a number of local residents receiving mental health and addiction services would receive funding from federal programs.

                        This would take a huge load off the local funding needs from the Adams Board.   But the expansion would not take effect until January 2014; and must be approved by the state legislature during their budget talks this summer.

The Adams Board also approved an allocation of $2,000 for each of the four county’s ‘family and children first councils’.
