The Sauder Woodworking Company of Archbold has signed a five-year agreement to purchase up to 750,000 kilowatts of renewable energy credits per year from the wind turbines recently installed at the Archbold and Pettisville local schools. This public-private partnership will reduce Sauder’s overall carbon footprint, while supporting the financial needs of each of the local school districts.
Through this agreement, both the Pettisville and Archbold school districts would receive up to $7,500 per year in incremental revenue from the generation of clean, renewable power. In return, Sauder Woodworking will record and report a reduction in the carbon emissions associated with 750,000 kilowatts of conventional electric generation.
The Archbold and Pettisville schools each own and operate a 750,000 kilowatt nameplate rated wind turbine.
