Napoleon city council is hoping to learn more about the cost to produce water and electric service for their residents.  Council has authorized spending about $32,500 for the consulting firm, Courtney and Associates, to do a cost analysis of what the city pays to distribute electricity and water.  This should also tell the city what it will cost to produce water at new water plant.  With this study, Napoleon Council accepted the recommendation from the electric committee; that the city does not need a performance audit for the electric department.                  If the EPA is putting big money into Napoleon’s new water plant; they want to know their investment will payoff, with a quality water system.   That’s why they are requiring Napoleon to pay $325,000 to test the membrane system they will utilize in drawing water from the Maumee River.  Council approved that contract with Jones and Henry, to test the water coming from spring runoff into the river.

Napoleon Council passed a resolution by emergency measure to enter into an agreement with ODOT for movement of utilities, when they upgrade state route 424.   That will take place before ODOT turns that highway over to Henry County and the city of Napoleon.

And with no action; Napoleon Council affirmed the move of the planning commission to create a preliminary plat for a minor commercial subdivision to be located at 2269 North Scott Street, site of the former Midwest Wood Trim.  That parcel would be re-zoned from industrial to a commercial property.
