The Patrick Henry board discussed a renovation project, and hired coaches for the upcoming spring sports season, during their Tuesday session.   The board is seeking plans for renovations to the restroom area in the athletic building, which in some cases may be decades old.

A presentation on curriculum mapping kicked-off the board meeting, which is an outline of state objectives, and gives teachers an idea as to whether they are staying on track with lessons in the classroom.

The Patrick Henry board supported Deshler’s bid for a ‘safe routes to schools’ grant, that could lead to funding for improvements to signals and sidewalks for children traveling to school.

Patrick Henry’s contract with the educational service center was approved for next year, at close to $777,000.   With the district cutting some aides and in other areas; it’s helping them reduce their special education costs from the current year by nearly $190,000.

In personnel action; the Patrick Henry board hired track coaches for the coming season, including Nichole Schroeder, Lori Yungmann, Brian Robinson, Sherrie Harris, and Matt Furko.
