The February report from the state in local sales tax revenues for Henry County indicates a decline of nearly 11% from last year. Henry County auditor Kevin Garringer reports total sales tax receipts this month topped $299,000; which is about $30,000 below last year’s figures in February. But that February number is the second highest total ever in Henry County for the second month of the year. This is the third consecutive month of lower sales tax receipts, when compared to the year before. Sales tax revenues generally reflect local retail sales from about three months earlier.
