The number of Ohio boat registrations reached a record high for a 4^th consecutive year in 2012.  The Ohio Department of Natural Resources reports 435,310 boats were registered last year, which is about 9,000 more than the year before.  These registered boats include:  powerboats, jet-propelled personal watercraft, sailboats, and manually propelled vessels like canoes, kayaks and rowboats.

There were over 107,000 canoes and kayaks registered in 2012 in Ohio, which is also a record.  The top five counties for watercraft registrations are Franklin, Cuyahoga, Summit, Hamilton, and Montgomery counties.
