The number of Ohio boat registrations reached a record high for a 4th consecutive year in 2012.  The Ohio Department of Natural Resources reports 435,310 boats were registered last year, which is about 9,000 more than the year before.  These registered boats include:  powerboats, jet-propelled personal watercraft, sailboats, and manually propelled vessels like canoes, kayaks and rowboats.

There were over 107,000 canoes and kayaks registered in 2012 in Ohio, which is also a record.  The top five counties for watercraft registrations are Franklin, Cuyahoga, Summit, Hamilton, and Montgomery counties.
