A group of citizens concerned about the future of the Napoleon municipal golf course is trying to come-up with ideas to enhance revenue. That group met with Napoleon’s parks and recreation board, along with Napoleon city council Wednesday night at city hall. Just how much revenue is needed to keep the golf course solvent? That’s a number that seems hard to define; but some in the golf course community are saying, more than $25,000 in additional revenue per year would be required. But if some expenses can be reduced; maybe that revenue number wouldn’t have to be so high. The idea of leasing the golf course to a management group has been kicked-around. But it’s doubtful there would be interest in a 9-hole course with a very small club-house, located in flood-plain.
