A new agreement between the Wauseon School District and its teachers association should pave the way for savings in health care. The Wauseon school board approved a memorandum of understanding at their Thursday session which will implement a high deductible health plan, with a health savings account. The Wauseon board would match up to $1,200 annually for a family plan, and up to $600 for single plan coverage. This money will be deposited directly into the bargaining unit members health savings account retroactive to September 2012.
The Wauseon school board also accepted the resignation of two employees: Elaine Frey has taught 3rd grade for 35 years in the Wauseon district. And Lyn Moxim has been assistant technology coordinator for the past 18 years at Wauseon. Both will retire May 31st of this year.
