Look for some construction work on the former U.S. 24 highway heading toward Lucas County this month. The Ohio Department of Transportation reports they will have crews working on a culvert replacement between the Henry County-Lucas County line and the Providence-Neapolis-Swanton Road, just west of Grand Rapids, beginning April 15th. This closure should impact traffic on the old route 24 highway through the month of April.
Then beginning April 22nd, construction crews will be resurfacing the former U.S. 24 highway from the Henry-Lucas County line, heading toward Dutch Road. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers during this period; and additional closures for more culvert repair will be announced this Spring.
