Students at Napoleon High School were part of the 1,900 teens competing in state business and marketing competition in Columbus recently. 19 students from Napoleon made the trip, with 6 making the top ten in their events. David Yunker took 5th place in Sports and Entertainment, with Brad Lutz placing 9th in that same category. Quinton Oberhaus took 7th place in business services. Jon Smith placed 8th in Food Marketing, and Joe Bernicke grapped 9th place in that category. And Derek Meienburg placed 10th in Hospitality and Tourism. This is Napoleon’s best finish in business and marketing at state in nearly 20 years.
Two Napoleon marketing students are headed for the national DECA competition in ‘stock market project’ on April 24th. Catlyne Spencer and Brad Lutz qualified in December for this event. Advisor for business and marketing at NHS is Jason Zera.
