The April meeting for the Patrick Henry school board focused on contracts for teachers and other staff in the district, Monday night. Five teachers were awarded continuing contracts: Tina Altman, Melissa Amspoker, Lynsey Davis, Becky Fillinger, and Becky Wasserman. Greg Inselmann was approved for a three-year teaching contract; and Tom Frania was approved for a continuing classified contract.
There were also some resignations from employees accepted at the session. Lynette Tietje is retiring after 37 years in teaching at the elementary school. Richard Donald is retiring after 8 years as bus driver. Annette Tietje is retiring after serving as a middle school aide. And Zachary Voll is resigning as vocal music teacher. The Patrick Henry board approved advertising for bids to purchase four new school busses.

More data was released regarding the proposal to move all Patrick Henry students to the high school-middle school site. 14 classrooms would need to be added for the increase of about 400 students; along with an auxiliary gym, and creation of a larger cafeteria. No action was taken; but an information meeting for the public will likely be set-up in the months ahead.
The Patrick Henry board recognized Jared Rader for achieving the American FFA degree. His father Roger was the first Patrick Henry student to receive this award.
And the board went into executive session to discuss personnel and for evaluation of the superintendent; but no action was taken.
