The Henry County Commissioners hosted their second public hearing to review project applications submitted in the 2013 community development block grant program. That review led to 3 of the 10 applications being recommended for funding. Henry County was awarded $75,000 this year for the community development block grant program, and $15,000 of that total goes to administrative costs, since Maumee Valley Planning Agency handles the program. The three projects approved for funding include $30,000 toward Napoleon’s street and sewer improvements on Northcrest Circle, a $20,000 award to the Henry County Senior Center for the purchase of a new hot-shot truck for the meals-on-wheels program, and the remaining $10,000 was awarded to the village of Hamler to help pay for their handicapped accessible sidewalk ramps. These three projects will be submitted to the state of Ohio for final funding approval.
