The Fulton County Sheriff’s office is looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck a subject while they were changing a tire; and then fled from the scene. The incident occurred at on FultonCounty road 23 near the Ohio-Michigan state line. The unidentified male subject was struck by the vehicle, that fled north into Lenawee County, Michigan. The victim suffered serious injuries; and was transported by Life Flight. Archbold and Fayette rescue both assisted at the scene.
An early morning crash in Williams County Sunday morning sent a driver to the hospital with injuries. The highway patrol reports 23 year old Cora Gonyea of Bryan lost control of her car on U.S. 127, rolling it several times. Gonyea was ejected from the auto and sustained serious injuries. She was transported by air ambulance to St. VincentMedicalCenter in Toledo.
The highway patrol in LucasCounty investigated a car-bicycle collision Sunday at . The accident occurred on Monclova Road, east of Jerome Road, when 65 year old Daniel Cannode of Waterville was struck on his bicycle by a car driven by Mary Fritz of Maumee. Cannode was ejected from the bike; and was transported to the ToledoHospital by Pro-Medica Air Ambulance.
And at least four fire departments in FultonCounty were dispatched to a fire at the North Star Steel Plant near Delta around Sunday morning. Delta, Lyons, Swanton and Wauseon fire crews responded, with LibertyCenter fire department on standby. And the National guard sent their foam truck to the scene. Fire units were at the plant for over four hours, in what was described as an oil fire. No injuries were reported.
